I've always been one to play by
the rules. When I was a vegetarian I wouldn't even eat veggies
cooked on the same grill as a piece of meat... Until the day I gave
up and at a full plate of orange chicken from Panda Express.
It's this all-or-nothing attitude that has caused me to swing
from strict vegetarian to
full on burger fiend. But as I read more and more
studies about the environmental and health benefits of abstaining
from meat (check out the American Dietetic Association's newly
released
position paper on the vegetarian diet for more info on
this), I've started to explore a type of diet purgatory called
"flexitarianism." There's no official definition, but
a flexitarian is basically a vegetarian that cheats and eats meat
